MEEDEN Deluxe Multi-Function Heavy Duty Large Artist Easel-Walnut-DHJ-3

I cannot say enough great things about this easel. The versatility, and ease of transition between positions, has made my chaotic painting style much easier to manage. The quality of the wood and construction are better than expected as well.

Needed an easel which could hold a heavy piece. This fit the bill!. using it as a TV stand for a Frame Tv.

This is my first quality easel and I couldn’t be happier. So many options for position I can’t stand it!!! In a good way.

My favorite easel so far!
Love the full tilt mechanism and the fact that it holds my larger canvases. The wood is fab and stained a pretty walnut color. It was fairly easy to assemble with super clear instructions. The locking wheels are just what I needed.

Best easel I've ever had! I paint on old windows and it's actually strong enough to hold. It adjusts to me so it's great for my aching back. Highly recommend.

Thrilled to have purchased this high quality easel. Even I could put it together. I was pleasantly surprised in the care they took for their packaging of it as well.

I really like the versatility of this easel. Being able to use it vertically as well as horizontally is a big plus. It’s a lovely piece of furniture as well. Assembly was pretty easy. A word of caution though if you use a screw gun to attach the casters finish tightening the screws by hand. I managed to snap the head of one of the 4 screws used to attached one of the wheels using the gun. My error but the remaining 3 screws saved the day.

This product can be used as an easel or table.

Only reason I'm not giving this a five star rating is that I'm about 100 lbs and not great at reading schematics plus I live/paint on my boat so it was a bit rough to put together but damn it's a dream come true!!!

This easel is superior to anything I have seen in the price range and better than many that are more expensive. It arrived very well packed. Wood pieces and hardware are clearly high quality. Instructions for assembly are exceedingly clear and for extra bonus points each type of hardware comes in a separate lettered bag that matches the instructions. It took me less than 30 minutes to assemble alone.

The easel is heavy duty super adjustable and the bottom lockable wheels make it movable in my studio. All the wood pieces are nicely finished so everything is smooth to the touch.

I can't recommend this highly enough. Well worth the price!

I bought this because of the ability of horizontal and vertical placement
I do a lot of mixed media work
It's fairly sturdy and will hold a large canvas this one is 4'x3'
It's pretty easy to adjust
It goes almost fully vertical a few degrees off. For myself that is fine
Looks like it will last me a few years

First off I'll say I'm a weekend woodworker and artist. I debated building my own easel from scratch but dont have the time. I presumed I could purchase one and improve it a bit glueing etc where needed. Which I did with this one. My current project I have a 4x4 cradle board (faced with 1/8 birch covered in canvas) so its a little heavier than traditional canvas. The positives:

- easy to assemble. But then again I'm pretty good at this. I could see it taking some time for someone less qualified. BTW I did use glue on the permanent joints - glad I did.
- solid hardware. However the tension/clamp points - I think those will eventually degrade over time. Many rely on wood against wood pressure which isn't great. The casters are great.
- good versatility. It can go horizontal and its stable. It doesn't go perfectly vertical.
- it is solid hardwood. It's not the manufactured stuff.
- for most canvases I think the balance is right. However it says it can take much larger canvases not sure about that - i would imagine this tipping over as the base is not weighed down. The base might require an anchor - like a sandbag.

the negatives:
- I ordered a new one. I got a very very used box and packaging which had been retaped probably for the third time. The product was clearly a return. I will be reaching out to Meeden to see if they will charge me full price for a refurbished product.
- There are a few points on here that are just bad design. For example the metal track used to hold the pin for the bottom tray - it moves (there are only a few screws in it and they dont tighten well) Which means the tray moves. Which means the canvas moves even though its clamped.
- The bottom and top trays that clamp the canvas - they bend over the surface of the canvas. You can see i put a piece of wood behind the canvas to push it out - but they should design this differently.

All in all great value esp if you add some glue and maybe a sandbag. I'll update on Meeden's response.

This is an awesome easel! Almost perfect and so good for the price! I could only give four stars because I had some issues: the catch in the above photo should have been centered to lock onto the middle strip. It's to the right and useless. (This is for raising and lowering the easel and holding it in place. ) I had to move it. This wood is very solid and starter holes have to be drilled. There is also a bar that goes on the very top of the easel to hold your painting in that has three starter holes for screws but they weren't deep enough and I had to drill them deeper to get the screws to go all the way in.
The instructions were pictures only but pretty good.
It came well packed.
The customer service was lacking as no matter how I dialed their number it wouldn't go through. I found an email address but probably because of time differences it would take a day or so to hear back and I had to send pics before I could get any answers but the employee was cordial. A little more clarity on reaching customer service would help.
The profile is fairly light tall and thin and the wheels roll well and there are many adjustments that can be made. The wood is solid and quality. I look forward to many years of use!
I like this company and what they do and hope they can work out the issues as this is a great product.

Ich habe die Staffelei letztes Jahr gekauft und ich LIEBE sie :) sie ist so bequem und handlich. Zudem liebe ich es, dass man nun die Leinwand auch liegend legen kann, vor allem die grosse Formate. Ich kann sie jedem Künstler höchstens empfehlen.

The packing was impressive, super engineering for ultimate transport. The wood is beautifully finished. I enjoyed putting it together, anticipating using it.
For Mother’s Day, I replaced my antique studio easel that was given to me more than 25 years ago. It had a huge footprint and had begun to bobble and sway.
I love to work large which it can accommodate. It’s stable and responsive if I need to adjust the angle for light. I love it.

I am really enjoying this easel. It is so versatile. I love that it has wheels so I can move it around the room wherever I need it. I am so glad I bought it!

This easel is awesome! It was a bit tricky to put together by myself, but I got it done! I love all the features, especially the rollers for mobility! This easel has really helped my painting. I don’t realize how much that would help, especially with larger paintings.
